Our Story

Welcome to Maker Plates — we’re a small family-run shop in Kansas that makes custom laser engraved and sublimated metal plates and signs for just about any purpose you can think of. We cut every plate to size, engrave or print each design ourselves, and make sure everything we ship out is something we’d be proud to put our own name on. Our goal is simple: Make great quality plates and make the ordering process as easy as possible.

Who We Are

We’re Chris and Sarah — a husband-and-wife team who genuinely enjoy working together and building this business.

Chris is the hands-on maker behind every plate. He handles the cutting, engraving, sublimation printing, edge finishing, and all the technical steps that go into turning a blank sheet of material into a finished product. He’s always looking for ways to improve the quality, fine-tune the process, and make sure every plate comes out just right.

Sarah is the creative eye behind the visual details.  She handles design, photography, and marketing for Maker Plates. Everything from plate layout ideas, product photos, and making sure everything we share or send out looks clean, professional, and true to our brand.

We’re not a big factory or a drop-shipper — it’s just the two of us, running a small family business and putting real attention into the products we make. If you choose to order from us, know that your plate is being made by actual people who care about the details.
